Isosydänmaa reindeer herding cooperative is part of the Itäkemijoki reindeer marking district. The cooperative is located to the Simo, Ranua and Tervola municipalities. The cooperative borders in north with Narkaus, in east with Kuukas and in south with Oijärvi cooperative. From the west side, the cooperative reaches the Gulf of Botnia.

46.3 % of the cooperative’s total area is state land and 53.7 % is owned by other landowners.

There is Runkaus strict nature reserve and some Natura areas in the cooperative area. In Suhanko, Ranua, a platinium metal mine has been planned. It would be located to the border of Isosydänmaa and Narkaus. There are also several operating and planned peat production areas as well as wind farms.

The cooperative uses mostly transferable fences. Immovable fences are located to Alatalon-Antinvaara and they are used annually.

People live mostly in the centre of Simo, but there are also several little villages. There are also lot of farms.
