Jääskö reindeer herding cooperative is part of the Western reindeer marking district. The cooperative is located mainly to the Rovaniemi municipality, and some parts of the north to Kittilä and Kolari municipalities. The cooperative borders in north with Alakylä, in east with Poikajärvi, in south with Palojärvi and in west with Kolari cooperatives.
48.1 % of the cooperative’s total area is state land and 51.9 % is owned by other landowners.. There are small protected primeval forest areas, Haukkakallionmaa and Pälämännikkö, in the middle of the cooperative area.
The main round up fence is Riiminjänkä that is located in the northern part of the cooperative. Other central autumn round up fences Liikamaa in Äijävaara and Riikovaara.
The biggest villages are Meltaus, Marrasjärvi and Marraskoski. The herders live in the villages: Meltaus, Jääskö, Tolonen, Maijanen and Porokari.
