Posion Livo reindeer herding cooperative is part of the Itäkemijoki reindeer marking district. The cooperative is located to the Posio municipality. The cooperative borders in north with TImisjärvi, in northeast with Tolva, in east with Akanlahti, in south with Taivalkoski and in west with Niemelä and Pudasjärven Livo cooperatives.

58.8 % of the cooperative’s total area is state land and 41.2 % is owned by other landowners. The northern part of the Syöte National Park is located to the Posion Livo cooperative and there are particularly good pasture areas. There are also few Natura areas.

The cooperative has seven immovable fences: Kokkovaara, Suottaniemen pää, Jalankangas, Kuivakangas, Lohijärvi, Livojoki-Kerkkämännikkö and Kellinniemi. There are plenty of farming in the Posio area so lot of fences have been build around fields.

The habitants are mainly located to the southern parts where the farms are. There are villages: Sirniö, Kulojärvi, Anetjärvi, Laukia, Raistakka, Livo, Pernu, Perälä and southern part of the Posio centre. The herders live evenly in all villages.
