Pyhä-Kallio reindeer herding cooperative is located to area of Rovaniemi, Kemijärvi, Sodankylä and Pelkosenniemi municipalities. The cooperative borders in north with Oraniemi, in east with Hirvasniemi, in south with Vanttaus and Timisjärvi cooperatives, in west Poikajärvi and Syväjärvi reindeer herding cooperatives.
55.0 % of the cooperative’s total area is state land and 45.0 % is owned by other landowners. Rovajärvi military shooting area, Pyhä-Luosto National Park, and Pyhä and Luosto tourism centres are located in the area of the cooperative.
The cooperative has an extensive fence network of around 40 fences. In average, one fence per 100 km2.
The most significant centres are the city of Kemijärvi and the town of Pelkosenniemi. There are multiple smaller villages in the cooperative area. Herders live around the cooperative.
