Timisjärvi reindeer herding cooperative is part of the Itäkemijoki reindeer marking district. The cooperative is located to the northern and western part of the Posio municipality, and partially to Rovaniemi and Kemijärvi municipalities.

The cooperative borders in west with Niemelä, Vanttaus and Pyhä-Kallio, in north with Hirvasniemi and Salla, in east with Tolva and in south with Posion Livo cooperatives.

26.4 % of the cooperative’s total area is state land and 73.6 % is owned by other landowners. Korouoma and Pyytöuoma protected areas are located to the cooperative area too.

The cooperative has 14 round up fences, but also transferable fences are used.

People live in the Aittaniemi, Jumisko, Suorsa, Lehtiniemi, Perä-Posio and Pernu villages. There is no nature based farming in the cooperative area.
