Vanttaus reindeer herding cooperative is part of the Raudanjoki reindeer marking district. The cooperative is located to the southeast part of Rovaniemi city. The cooperative borders in north with Pyhä-Kallio, in east with Timisjärvi, in south with Niemelä and Narkaus, and in west with Poikajärvi cooperatives.
50.8 % of the cooperative’s total area is state land and 49.2 % is owned by other landowners. There is no peat production in the cooperative area, but big farms limit the pasture areas.
The cooperative does not have grazing cycle fences. There are six round up fences.
Herders live mainly in the sides of River Kemijoki. Only few in the town centre.
