The Organisation of Reindeer Husbandry

Reindeer husbandry is part of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and it is regulated by the Reindeer Husbandry Act (848/1990). Reindeer husbandry is considered part of the agricultural sector for the purposes of meat hygiene regulations and support policies. In the EU, reindeer husbandry is regarded as food production.
