Kallioluoma reindeer herding cooperative is part of the Kuusamo reindeer marking district. The cooperative is located to the southern part of the Kuusamo municipality. The cooperative borders in east with Russian border, in south with Hossa-Irni, in west with Akanlahti and in north with Oivanki cooperatives.

20.1 % of the cooperative’s total area is state land and 79.9 % is owned by other landowners. The Road 5 goes through the cooperative and splits the pasture areas in two. There are protected areas for old forests and mire reserves. There are couple of peat mires in the area, but their harm to the herding is relatively small.

There are nine round up fences are in area and five fence for catching reindeer. The herders have also their own fences. The cooperative has build fences around all farmed fields.

People live evenly around the cooperative, apart from eastern areas. The amount of holiday cottages has grown fast. The herders live around cooperative. Most of the herders are also farmers. They have traditional farms, forest and reindeer farms.
